Ocean Path/Otter Point

Acadia National Park, Maine

A visit to Otter Point will allow you to feel the ocean breeze, smell the salty air, and hear the crashing waves, especially if you hike along the half-mile section of trail known as the Ocean Path. You could also choose to hike the entire 4 mile roundtrip from Sand Beach to Otter Point and back if you want, but we decided to just catch the highlight of the point itself. In addition to the classic Acadia views, this trail provides a great opportunity to view the abundance of wildlife—including animals such as purple sea stars, urchins, cormorants, and even eider ducks.
