Lovers Leap – Cumberland Falls Resort State Park, Kentucky

Cumberland Falls, an impressive 68 feet tall by 160 feet wide cascade of water reminiscent of Niagara Falls, is a must stop for outdoor enthusiasts visiting Kentucky – nearly 3,600 cubic feet of water spills over the sandstone cliff every second, creating a thunderous roar and a beautiful sight, day or night.

The short, paved path from the visitor’s center to Lovers Leap is the quickest way to enjoy spectacular views of Cumberland Falls – four separate observation areas offer various angles on the Niagara of the South.

The trail is entirely paved making for an easy walk - simply follow along the river to reach the overlooks and then circle back on the handicap accessible walkway a little further from the river for a loop hike of 0.6-miles roundtrip.
